Outstanding work produced by students enrolled in studio courses at Gettysburg College during the 2009-10 academic year will be selected by juror Ron Longsdorf. Longsdorf is an artist and independent curator who lives and works in Wilmington, DE. He has exhibited in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Brooklyn, Richmond, Minneapolis, and Berlin, Germany. Ron has attended residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, Art Farm in Nebraska, and Elsewhere Artist Collaborative in Greensboro, NC. In 2009, he received an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Delaware Division of the Arts. Ron is currently Exhibition Coordinator and part time Curator with the New Wilmington Art Association, in Wilmington, DE. Ron holds an MFA in sculpture from the University of Delaware and a BFA in sculpture from Pennsylvania State University. Longsdorf also exhibits new work in Schmucker Art Gallery and discusses his mixed-media installations and the jurying process to the public on March 26, 2010 at noon.
