Affiliated Programs
Gettysburg College Affiliated Programs
Over 90% of Gettysburg students who study off campus participate in Affiliated Off Campus Programs
There are 34 Affiliated Programs offered for the academic year or semester. These programs, chosen by the Gettysburg College faculty to meet the special needs of our students, offer excellent academic and social opportunities for students in all majors! In most cases, these programs are sponsored by an academic department, and in some cases, the programs are actually led by a Gettysburg College faculty member. These programs offer Gettysburg College students several advantages:
Just like home . . .
Gettysburg's academic departments fully support our Affiliated programs, and all departments encourage students to make an Affiliated off campus program part of their Gettysburg degree.
Students participating in Affiliated programs can take courses toward their major, minor or the goals of the Gettysburg curriculum and earn credit and grades for the work that they do! That means that your off campus credits will become a permanent part of your Gettysburg record. All grades count (A-F) just like they do at Gettysburg.
Financial Ease!
Students continue to be billed Gettysburg's regular comprehensive fee (2007-2008 fee is $22,135 per semester) so that families can continue with their regular payment schedule. The Gettysburg comprehensive fee is equivalent to tuition, room and a USA meal plan. In exchange, Gettysburg pays for tuition, room, full board, and in some cases airfare for the off campus program.
In addition, Gettysburg students can continue to use financial aid that they receive - except for work study - to pay for their off campus program. This means that federal aid, state aid, and even Gettysburg institutional grants and loans apply to program costs, just as if you were on campus!
International Students who receive financial aid must write a petition to President Will in order to apply their financial aid to off campus studies programs. If your parent works for Gettysburg College, please see OCS for information about the financial policies that apply to you. All students should refer to the Financial Information Section at the end of this booklet for more detailed information.
