Fall, Spring, Academic Year ~ All Majors ~ Integrated Program
Program in Brief:
This semester or year program based in Cairo, Egypt offers students the opportunity to take classes in all academic disciplines in a direct enrollment environment with Egyptian and international students.
Orientation:
There is a mandatory Send-Off Session at Gettysburg College for all off campus studies students the semester prior to the program. There is an extensive on-site orientation upon arrival in Cairo.
Location:
Cairo, Egypt's capital is an immense, chaotic city where ancient buildings and modern skyscrapers exist side-by-side. Its bazaars, mosques and Citadel are hallmarks of this city which is home to 16 million inhabitants. The American University in Cairo (AUC) has three distinct and vibrant campuses in central Cairo.
Living Arrangements:
All students live in Residence Halls.
Courses and Crdits:
All off campus programs are worth 4 Gettysburg Course Units. In order to receive this, students must take a "full load of courses" which is equal to 5 courses on this program.
Eligibility Requirements:
Students from any major in good standing may apply. Students with a 3.0 GPA preferred.
Program Cost:
Students pay the Gettysburg comprehensive fee (in 2008-2009 it is $23,350 per semester) and receive tuition, room, board, and flight.
Application Deadline:
March 15 (for Fall Semester or academic year)
September 15 (for Spring Semester)
