Fall, Spring, Year ~ All Majors ~ Integrated Program

Program in Brief:

This semester or year program is designed for students in every major. Students choose to study in Buenos Aires or in Mendoza. In both cases, students are directly enrolled in Argentine universities with Argentine students.

Orientation:

There is a mandatory Send-Off Session at Gettysburg College for all off campus studies students the semester prior to the program. An on-site orientation is held in Argentina upon arrival.

Location:

Students choose to study in Buenos Aires or Mendoza. Students in Buenos Aires take one program course and then study at any (or all) of the following universities: Universidad de Buenos Aires; Universidad Torcuato Di Tella; Universidad Catolica; Universidad del Salvador. Students in Mendoza take one program course and then study at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. Buenos Aires offers students the chance to study in one of the world's great cities. Mendoza offers students the opportunity to study in one of the most beautiful regions of South America - at the foot of the Andes. Gettysburg College offers these programs in partnership with Butler University.

Living Arrangements:

Students live in mandatory homestay and take meals with their host family.

Courses and Credit:

All off campus programs are worth 4 Gettysburg Course Units. In order to receive this, students must take a "full load of courses" which is equal to 15-16 semester hours of credit on this program.

Program Dates:

Mid-February through late-June or mid-July through late-November.

Eligibility Requirements:

Satisfactory completion of Spanish 202 for Mendoza and Spanish 301 for Buenos Aires. A 3.0 GPA strongly preferred for both programs.Spanish majors/minors or students intending to major or minor in Spanish must have completed Spanish 301 before applying to either program.

Program Costs:

Students pay the Gettysburg comprehensive fee (in 2008-2009 it is $23,350 per semester) and receive tuition, room, board, round trip airfare from Miami to Argentina, and program excursions.
