Gettysburg in England: Advanced Studies in England

Program in Brief:

This fall or spring semester program based in Bath offers students the opportunity to take a wide variety of courses in the humanities, social sciences and arts. Special options include internships and independent study opportunities.

Orientation:

There is a mandatory Send-Off Session at Gettysburg College for all off campus studies students the semester prior to the program. An on-site orientation is held in Bath upon arrival.

Location:

The picturesque city of Bath on the River Avon is home to ASE. Bath's Roman beginnings give the city an ancient feel, but students quickly learn its "modern" side with the many cafes, clubs and restaurants at their fingertips. Students also spend one week in Oxford and several days in Stratford as part of this program.

Living Arrangements:

All students live in shared apartments.

Courses and Credits:

All off campus programs are worth 4 Gettysburg Course Units. In order to receive this, students must take a "full load of courses" which is equal to 4 classes on this program.

Program Dates:

Late August through mid-December or late January through late-May.

Eligibility Requirements:

Any student with 2.8 GPA or higher and at least sophomore status may apply.

Program Costs:

Students pay the Gettysburg comprehensive fee (in 2008-2009 it is $23,350 per semester) and receive tuition, room, board, and round trip airfare from New York to London.
