Budget Worksheet

To help you plan your budget, and to give you an idea when certain costs must be paid, we suggest you complete the budget worksheet (Located in the Off Campus Studies Planning Guide). You will need to know the length of time you plan to be off campus in order to make this a useful estimate. Please check your program materials to find out the length of your program.

If you are studying abroad, you need to know the current exchange rate in the country in which you will be studying, as some of the estimates given to you by your program will be listed in the currency of their country rather than in US dollars. You can check today's exchange rate for most countries in the newspaper, or by visiting http://www.oanda.com/converter/classic. Many students are surprised by the high cost of living outside the United States , or in larger cities within the United States . Be sure to ask past participants before you depart, and the program staff once you arrive, for recommendations on less expensive places to shop, and how to keep costs down.
