Planning for Off Campus Study

What is off campus study?

A semester, academic year, or summer term abroad that is a credit bearing part of your Gettysburg degree.

Why study off campus?

Overwhelmingly, students develop new academic interests, and bring a new focus to their studies and their lives. Students report that they come back feeling refreshed and invigorated from their experience, approaching their remaining studies with new energy and a broadened world view.

Who can study off campus?

Full-time students in good academic standing (a 2.0 or above) who are also in good disciplinary standing (no more than 5 points and not on academic probation). Students in any major or discipline.

When can I study off campus?

Students can study abroad as juniors, first-semester seniors and sophomores under certain circumstances (if interested, please contact OCS).  Most students go abroad fall of their junior year.

NOTE: It is important to begin planning at least one year in advance of your time away.
