*STUDY ABROAD: May include two courses (one 200- and one 300-level literature; or one 300-level literature and one 300-level writing) from a semester program abroad may count toward the major.  A third course (200- or 300-level) from a full-year program abroad may count.

** Up to two literature courses taken outside of the English Department may count toward Intermediate Studies in Literature, Advanced Studies in Literature, or an elective course (with your academic advisors permission). 

***May be a 100-level literature course: ENG 111, 113, CLA 103, or designated first year seminar in literature; or may be 200- or 300-level literature or writing course;  or may be an academic-year internship or individualized study.
