II. Four other courses:

- May include GER 201 and 202 for those beginning the language at this level or below.

- 1 course must be taught in German at the 300-level.

- Students who place into 201 may take 1 course taught in English, students who place into 301 may take 2 courses taught in English from the following: GER 120, 225, 240, 250, 260, 270, 280, 351, Hist 218, Mus_Clas 109, Phil 208, 366 or first-year seminars taught by members of the German Studies department. Philosophy 368 may be used with departmental approval.

Minors are strongly encouraged, but not required, to study abroad in a German-speaking country. Minors may count up to two courses taken abroad for minor credit.
