Checklist
Eighteen Months Before You Need the Funding:
_____ Review material in the Provost's Conference Room for grants that fit your project;
_____ Talk to someone in the Provost's Office about appropriate grants.
As Soon As You Receive the Grant Application notify the Provost's Office if:
_____ the grant has facilities implications such as space needs;
_____ it includes salaries for: a) faculty b) administrative time c) staff time d) student wages e) overhead costs;
_____ it requires any official certification or forms, such as a "Drug Free Workplace" verification form;
_____ it might require review by the College's Human Subjects Review Board or Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.
Two Weeks in Advance of Deadline:
a) for any proposal needing an administrator's signature:
_____ Call the Provost's Office to check the administrator's schedule to make sure he/she will be available when needed;
_____ Provide a draft for that administrator to review.
b) for any proposal:
_____ Provide a draft for someone in the Provost's Office to review.
One Week in Advance of the Deadline if an administrator's signature is needed:
_____ Provide a copy of the proposal to the administrator whose signature is required.
When You Send It In:
_____ Send a copy to the Provost's Office for the files.
If Your Grant Application Is Denied:
_____ Notify Provost's Office.
If Your Grant Application Is Approved:
_____ Notify Provost's Office and send copy of written notification for the files.
_____ If applicable, make an appointment to talk with someone in the Provost's Office to review guidelines for authorization of salary, stipends, hiring, budget, etc.
_____ Notify Provost¿s Office of any changes in grant agreement or the grant¿s status, including requests for extensions.
Two Weeks Prior to Deadline for Reports to Granting Institution:
_____ Send a copy of interim/final reports to the Provost¿s Office prior to submission to the granting institution.
