Presidential Research Fellowships
Types of projects supported:
- Projects that are larger in scope or that require a different kind of support than can be accommodated by Research and Professional Development grants. Each fellowship entails a stipend of up to $5000 and reimbursement for up to $5000 in expenses. The stipend will be paid in equal installments during the summer following the award, regardless of the timetable of the project. All projects must be completed within fourteen months of the award.
- The same project may not be funded by regular Research and Professional Development grants and a Presidential Research Fellowship grant at the same time.
Who may apply:
- All faculty and administrators who have not been awarded Presidential Research Fellowships in the last five years and whose projects are not already being supported by Research and Professional Development grants.
- Full-time continuing faculty and administrators will receive preference as these grants are intended to provide long-term benefit to the College and to the institutional program.
Application deadlines:
- Applications are to be submitted in the spring semester on the same date that Research and Professional Development grant applications are due. This date is announced early in the spring semester.

- Submit the following to facdev@gettysburg.edu by the deadline announced by the Faculty Development Committee:
- Cover sheet
- Narrative describing the project
- Statement of support from Department Chair/Program Coordinator/Supervising Administrator
- Itemized budget
