For more than a century, the Bullets baseball team has been competing at a high level in its quest to claim conference titles and postseason recognition. The men’s basketball team continually ranks among the top teams in the Centennial Conference and has claimed three conference titles since 2001. Women’s basketball has developed a winning tradition that has seen the Bullets compete in the NCAA playoffs on multiple occasions. Gettysburg’s men’s cross country team competes in one of the best conferences and regions in the country. The women’s cross country team boasts a conference title, multiple all-conference performers, and several All-Americans. Field hockey claimed a national title in ‘80 and has remained one of the most successful athletic programs at Gettysburg College. Bullets football is a tradition that began more than 120 years ago and continues to set records and challenge for conference titles each season. With multiple team and individual conference titles, the Gettysburg men’s golf team remains a strong contender in the Centennial Conference. Gettysburg’s youngest varsity program, the women’s golf team has grown into one of its most successful, winning three conference titles during a five-year span. The Bullets men’s lacrosse program has won more conference titles than any other institution in the Centennial Conference and it has finished national runner-up three times. Women’s lacrosse has emerged as one of the most dominant programs in the nation over the last decade and claimed its first national title in 2011. A varsity sport since 1930, the men’s soccer program more than holds its own against some of the premier programs in NCAA Division III. Competing in the shadow of the Eternal Peace Light Memorial, the women’s soccer team has claimed multiple regional and conference titles. The Gettysburg softball program has won nearly 600 games and claimed multiple conference titles over the last three-plus decades. Men’s swimming has been a dominant force over the last four decades, claiming more than a dozen conference titles and seeing almost two-dozen Bullets claim All-America status. With more than two dozen conference titles, five top-10 national finishes, and two individual national titles, women’s swimming remains one of the most successful programs at Gettysburg College. The men’s tennis program tangles with some of the elite teams in the region on courts located next to the rolling terrain of the Gettysburg Battlefield. Gettysburg’s women’s tennis team has a strong tradition that dates back nearly four decades, during which time the program has claimed multiple conference titles. The men’s track and field program has been setting records for more than a century and continues to raise the bar in the Centennial Conference. The Bullets have claimed six conference team titles and more than 80 individual titles in women’s track and field. The Gettysburg volleyball program has won more than 900 contests and claimed 11 conference titles over the last 30-plus years. Wrestling has been winning conference titles for more than seven decades and it has seen two competitors claim national titles as of 2012.
