The purple martin super colony located by the Quarry pond decreases the College’s need for pesticides. June, 2011Gettysburg College is determined to bring sustainability to every corner of campus. From utilizing a local bird population to manage pests, to solely utilizing Energy Star rated appliances, to using responsibly harvested trees for our library's paper, the college is constantly thinking of new ideas to creatively and effectively reduce its carbon footprint.
