Sustainability is a term that crosses boundaries; those of nations, those of race and gender, and those of economic standing. Issues of sustainability inherently include issues of social well-being and justice. As issues of sustainability and society cross these boundaries, individuals are urged to study issues from different cultural settings. Students studying abroad therefore, have unique and valuable experiences which will shape the way they study sustainability at Gettysburg College and understand their roles as global citizens for the rest of their lives.
