Renewable resources & conservation at Dining Services
Dining Services uses several renewable resource materials for disposable products, including:
• corn-based drinking cups, lids, and carry-out containers
• potato starch drinking straws
• napkins made from 100% post-consumer material
Also, pulping equipment in the Dining Center removes solids from dishwashing water, permitting the water to be recycled, resuling in dramatic reductions of water use and solid waste volume.
