Transportation
Gettysburg College is reducing its use of fossil fuels for transportation. In 2001, our transportation service instituted a shuttle program to regional mass transit locations, such as airports and train stations, to reduce our carbon emissions. We also purchased a 29-passenger bus in 2001 to reduce the number of vehicles traveling simultaneously on larger trips. As cars, trucks, vans, and buses are replaced in our fleet, we choose fuel-efficient vehicles.
Our campus is friendly to pedestrians and bicyclists. Parking lots are located on the campus's perimeter. Bicycle racks are plentiful outside college buildings.
