Gettysburg Sustainability Facts

The 2010 Give it Up for Good Sale collected 33 tons in donations, raising approximately $18000 for the United Way of Adams County.

If everyone at Gettysburg college turned their thermostat down by 1° F, $90,000 would be saved each year. Put on a sweater this winter!

Gettysburg is home to a colony of Purple Martins that eat bugs, helping to reduce pesticide use. They live in white birdhouses near Quarry Pond.

During the 2010-2011 year, each student wasted approximately 3.8 ounces of food PER MEAL at Servo. Don't throw it away, join the Clean Plate Club!
