WelcomeAcademic Camps at Gettysburg College (ACGC) offers a unique and effective style of summer learning for high school students who are open to new experiences with great people. All rising ninth through twelfth grade boys and girls are welcome to attend our two-week, residential academic program on Gettysburg College’s beautiful Campus. ACGC focuses on experience both inside and outside the classroom and we excel at making the summer learning experience safe and fun. We work diligently in class, and benefit from tremendous results with access to some of the best facilities, teachers and curricula in the world. And we work just as hard out of class, building community, boosting confidence and having a great time.
There are a lot of ways to spend your summer, and we keep that in mind when planning each ACGC experience – be it free-time in the movie theater, a pick-up game of hoops, a field trip to our Nation’s Capitol, or a fresh approach to class activities; the structure of camp guides and challenges students to make the most of the wonderful resources available through Gettysburg College and the local community. We combine an amazing location with inspiring people, instruction and activities to create a positive and memorable summer for all of our students. Our model of experiential summer learning offers high school students an active, constructive and supportive environment for learning and growing. It’s impossible to describe the entire experience, because each ACGC moment is unique and its own. However, if we had to boil it down to one sentence, it would be this: our students have fun, learn from a variety of supportive mentors at one of the top 50 liberal arts colleges in the nation, and make friends for life. We’re delighted that you are thinking of joining our summer family! "I learned a lot about something that really matters; something I couldn't learn in school – that nothing happens by itself, that you have to make a difference on your own. Oh, and I made great friends and had a great time too!"
