Off-Campus Excursions

As always, we take some fantastic non-academic field trips. None of these trips are mandatory, but they are all enriching and great fun. In addition to our local field trips downtown, we make many other expeditions to nearby cities and attractions that you have the option of adding to your experience. Here is a sample...

BALTIMORE INNER HARBOR - Free!
Baltimore's Inner Harbor, one of America's oldest seaports, hold many cultural and educational opportunities. Students can tour the last floating Civil War vessel, The Constellation, then make their way to the National Aquarium. The Harborplace Amphitheater showcases bands both local and national. Storied Italian and seafood restaurants line the harbor, and shopping is never more than a few feet away. This field trip promises a rich but relaxing excursion from Gettysburg. (Session 1 & 2 )

SENATORS MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL - Add On
On a lovely summer evening in session two, we head up to Harrisburg to watch the Senators defend their home turf. We have box seats this year, and the action is only yards away. The Harrisburg Senators are the AA affiliate of the Washington Nationals, so you might see some of these players in the Majors soon. (Session 2)

HISTORIC GETTYSBURG - Free!
Our summer students can enjoy the charming town of Gettysburg, which is an easy walk from campus. In town, students can visit the ice cream parlor, coffee shops, restaurants, book stores, and the new Majestic Theater. Gettysburg attracts millions of visitors, so there are plenty of places to go and people to meet! (Session 1 & 2)
