Submit to Äçcéñt

STOP! Before you send in your submission, make sure that it  meets the following requirements:

Submissions Checklist

• Abstract: 100-200 word abstract briefly summarizing the paper, poem, or creative writing piece. Poem abstracts may be shorter. Abstracts are not required for submissions in English or for photographic work. Photo submissions should include the country, the month and year in which the photo was taken, and any additional relevant details.

• Typeface: 12 pt. Times New Roman

• Length: Äçcéñt will review papers, poems, and creative writing of any length, but does not assure their acceptance for publication.

• Format: All humanities papers should follow MLA guidelines. Papers in the area of the social sciences may follow the standard guidelines for their respective disciplines (i.e. APSA, Turabian, etc...). Text should be double spaced.

• Permission to Publish Form: All students must fill out the permission to publish form and return it to the Editorial Board, signed and dated. A permission to publish form will be emailed to you in Microsoft Word electronic format following the initial submission of your work.

Submissions must adhere to the following guidelines:

•  Submissions must be in Microsoft Word electronic format

• The author's name should be included in a separate attachment along with:                                                            

• Email Address

• Mailing Address

• Class Year

• Major/Minor

**Submissions lacking any of the above listed components will not be considered for publication.

•   In order to facilitate Äçcéñt's blind peer review process, the author's name will be removed from the submission draft prior to the editorial process. Once a submission has been selected for publication, the author may choose to have their work published under their name.
