Note: The terms "African world" and "African" here refer to all peoples of African descent and thus includes Africans on the continent of Africa and Africans in the Diaspora in various parts of the world including (but not restricted to) the Americas, Europe and Asia.  In referring to Africans in the Diaspora we include both the descendents of Africans who were involuntarily transported to the Americas as slaves and later immigrants.
