Bamba taught at Hobart and William Smith Colleges since 2008 and at Georgia State University from 2003 to 2008. His research explores Ivory Coast development from the end of World War II through the 1970s, focusing on the influence of the United States and France on the area.  He has joined both departments as an assistant professor.
