After you graduate . . .
As a Japanese major, you will have developed skills, information and concepts that are relevant to every area of employment. Knowledge in the Japanese language is extremely useful in business, the social sciences, engineering, economics, public administration, the civil or foreign service, government and teaching.
A degree in Japanese will provide you with a strong background for advanced study and specialization in a variety of Japan-related disciplines and fields. Many of our graduates with a Japanese Major or Minor choose to teach English in Japan. The JET Program is a highly respected program. Representatives from JET come to Gettysburg College in the Fall each year to give you an opportunity to explore the program and answer questions you may have.
