Professor Lipsett teaches Biochemistry (Chem 333-334), Introduction to Forensic Science (Chem 216) and Fundamental Chemistry: Down on the Farm (Chem 105). Her research interests lie within two main areas: mechanistic studies of secondary metabolic pathways that involve the production of biologically active metabolites and investigative studies of sequence variations found in the mitochondrial DNA genome. Students participate in research in Dr. Lipsett lab during the summer and academic year. Independent research experience with the faculty is the hallmark of the Chemistry Department program at Gettysburg College.
