The Gettysburg College Choir and Camerata tour annually in the eastern United States or internationally. Domestic tours often include major cities such as New York, and recent international tours have travelled to Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Brazil and Canada. 

The 2013 tour will take place March 9-13, and includes concerts in eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut, and our home concert in Gettysburg on March 23. A variety of a cappella sacred and secular music will be sung, with selections from the Renaissance era by Palestrina and Wilbye, modern pieces by Whitaker, Gjeilo and Stroope, and music with influences from Ireland, Haiti, and India. The concert will also include a performance of A Procession Winding Around Me by Jeffrey Van, for choir and classical guitar, on poetry of Walt Whitman. This piece is performed in honor of the 150^th anniversary of the Gettysburg battle that will take place this year.

This tour includes a special focus on relief for communities affected by Hurricane Sandy.  We will be visiting communities that have been directly impacted by the storm, or with connections to those affected. The choir will engage in a work project on the Jersey shore, and several of the concerts will financially benefit populations in need.

This year the College Choir is comprised of 47 undergraduate singers that include both music majors and students in other majors, from Anthropology to Political Science. Singers are selected through a competitive audition process, and the ensemble is committed to the highest levels of musicianship and professionalism.
