Stephen studied with James Riggs and Eric Nestler at North Texas University where he earned the B.M. and M.M. degrees. He was a member of the 2 oclock Lab Band at UNT and was honored at the Wichita Jazz Festival in 1999 as outstanding soloist and won 2nd place in the North American Saxophone Alliance Jazz Competition in 2002. He was also awarded a Downbeat jazz award in the category of Best College Big Band.

Mr. Fieldhouse is an adjunct assistant professor of music at Gettysburg College. He also teaches private lessons in saxophone, clarinet, and flute, adjudicates jazz festivals, and freelances as a woodwind specialist in the Central Pennsylvania area.
