Dave Rohrer is the Director of the Jazz Ensemble for the fall 2012 semester. Mr. Rohrer has been a music educator in Pennsylvania’s public schools for thirty-six years, having taught in the East Pennsboro and Carlisle Area School Districts. For the past thirty years, Mr. Rohrer has been the Band Director and Department Chairman at Carlisle where he directed the Concert, Symphonic, Marching, and Jazz Bands, the Jazz Combo, taught Music Theory, and supervised fifteen music faculty members.
Mr. Rohrer earned his BM degree from Susquehanna University, a MM degree from West Chester University, and holds Supervisory Certification from Millersville University. He is a regular attendee of the annual spring and summer PMEA Conferences and is past president of the Cumberland County Music Educators Association and PMEA District 7. Dave was awarded the PMEA District 7 Citation of Excellence in 1994. He has performed on trumpet with the Buzz Jones Big Band and is a member of the Brass Ensemble that performs annually for the Gettysburg College Commencement.
