


On March 25 and 26th, the Sunderman Conservatory welcomes back alumnus, Brian Avnet ’64 for a two-day residency that will include a public information session on “Music Industry Basics”; a mini-class for Gettysburg College students and alums, “The Art of the Music Business,” and class visits. Brian’s visit is being co-sponsored by the Center for Career Development.

Brian Avnet has been an entertainment manager for over 35 years. During that time, he has managed the musical careers of Josh Groban, Herb Alpert and Lani Hall, Colin Hay, Frankie Valli + the Four Seasons, Cyndi Lauper, Beth Nielson Chapman, The Manhattan Transfer, Take 6, Eric Benet, Roseann Cash, The Average White Band, Jean Luc Ponty, Kenny Rankin, Lori McKenna, Renee Olstead, legendary composer/arranger Johnny Mandel and producers David Foster, Walter Afanasieff, Humberto Gatica and Dallas Austin. Brian was President of 143 Records, in partnership with David Foster and Warner Bros./Reprise Records, where he signed and worked with The Corrs and Michael Buble. Brian was the 2004 recipient of the prestigious music industry award “Pollstar Magazine’s ‘Personal Manager of the Year’”. He has Produced and/or consulted on numerous music industry television specials, events and benefits, including the ‘City Of Hope Spirit Of Life Gala’. Brian was on the Board of Governors of NARAS for 3 years. Currently he serves as a consultant for the Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia and is on the Board of directors for the USO. He studied business administration, economics, and theatre at Gettysburg College and graduated in 1964.
