Whether practicing, performing or researching, students at the Sunderman Conservatory have access to an extensive selection of performance venues, facilities and music resources.
"Uniquely Gettysburg" Programs
The Sunderman Conservatory is one of several “Uniquely Gettysburg” Programs. The campus offerings that have earned this distinction also include the Eisenhower Institute, the Civil War Institute, the Majestic Theater, and the Center for Public Service … and all have public significance for Gettysburg. They are key components of the Gettysburg College liberal arts tradition, and offer outstanding academic and extracurricular opportunities for students at the Sunderman Conservatory.
Performing and Practicing
In addition to extensive practice and rehearsal facilities within Schmucker Hall, students have access to a variety of one-of-a-kind performance venues.
These include the Majestic Theater, a revitalized historic landmark and former vaudeville stage; Paul Recital Hall, an acoustically rich environment for chamber music located inside Schmucker Hall; and the College Chapel.
Furthering Knowledge ... Expanding Horizons
Musselman Library's music collection offers a vast selection of sound and video recordings, representing all periods and genres of Western classical music, as well as jazz, popular and world music. The collection also includes journals, scores and books about music.
Conservatory students also get involved with student organizations and off-campus opportunities, and are eligible to compete for a number of prizes.
