Civil War Era Studies offers courses in all aspects of the Civil War Era including military, social, intellectual and political history. It allows for a thorough understanding of the era, and the minor program can be added to any student’s field of study.

Professor Sharita Thompson: Prostitution and the Civil War
Prof. Sharita Thompson is a historian of the African American experience during the Civil War and Reconstruction. She teaches a course on "Sex and the Civil War", and in this week's class she focuses on prostitution in the North and South.
