Welcome to the Gettysburg Semster 2007 Battlefield Blog! My name is Mary Krakowiak, hailing from the suburbs of Philadelphia, and I am currently a junior History and English major at Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. To those of you who are familiar with this area, you might wonder why I would go through the effort of transplanting myself twenty minutes up the pike for a semester of classes. Well, I might answer, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to completely delve into the rich history of the Civil War, especially in the pinnacle town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania! I invite all of you to join myself and the eight other Civil War enthusiasts of the Gettysburg Semester living in the Appleford in our semester of "all Civil War, all the time."
