James P. Myers, Jr., teaches Shakespeare, early seventeenth-century literature, and Irish literature. He has authored numerous publications, including three books, on the Elizabethan reconquest of Ireland; Irish immigration to Pennsylvania's pre-Revolutionary frontier; the French and Indian War; and the mapping of Pennsylvania's colonial frontier. Currently, he is investigating and writing on the esthetics of cartography and on the relationship among map-mindedness, modern culture, and literature.
