Instructor: Adjunct Professor A. Ralph Cavaliere
This course will explore the growth, development, and natural history of molds, mushrooms, and other fungi. Emphasis will be placed on their relationship to human affairs and their place in the shaping of human history. Although the course will have many aspects relating to the economics, sociology, and history of man's relationship to fungi, its main emphasis will be scientific. Part of the seminar will be laboratory based; students will isolate, culture, and examine fungi using both light and electron microscopy.
