Dr. Dan Drury (FACSM) is an Exercise Physiologist and Associate Professor of Health Sciences at Gettysburg College where he is currently Co-Chair of the department. He is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) where he as also served as President of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter. Currently, he serves ACSM as a member of the Credentials Committee to screen the qualifications of those applying for fellowship. Dr. Drury has published numerous articles and chapters in the field of Sports Medicine and is featured on a three part video series entitled Advanced Strength Training from Human Kinetics. Currently, Dr. Drury has focused his research efforts in the area of Exercise Induced Hypoalgesia. This phenomenon is characterized by a temporary desensitization of ones ability to sense pain both during and after exercise. He has received a number of grants to fund his research and a number of his cooperating students have gone on to present and publish their findings. He has more than 20 years of experience in field of sports medicine and he has received certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, ACSM, the American Society of Exercise Physiologists and others.
