International Affairs (IA) is a dual major program that offers students an opportunity to understand the factors and forces that have shaped the contemporary world. The program covers all facets of international relations.

John W. Nelson '13 receives Harlowe Hardinge Award

John W. Nelson '13, a History and International Affairs major from Big Prairie, Ohio, recently received the Harlowe Hardinge Award for excellence in Early American History.  John, pictured here receiving the award from History Department chair Professor Timothy Shannon, was a student in Fall 2012 in History 342: Revolutionary America.  In addition to a cash grant to be used toward his education, John received a copy of Fred Anderson's Crucible of War: The Seven Years' War and the Fate of Empire in British North America, 1754-1766.  John plans on pursuing a PhD for early American and Borderlands history. His main focus will be in the Early American Frontier of the 17th and 18th Centuries, studying Native American and European interactions in the Canadas, the Great Lakes, and the Ohio Country.
