An IDS major opens doors to numerous possibilities in the work field. I graduated with my B.A. in Business, Media, and Communications, a major I had designed from the ENG, OMS, and SOC Departments. Employers love to see that graduates took initiative to create a program of study that allowed them to pursue their academic interests.
After I graduated in May 2012 I got a paid summer internship at the Capital Area Food Bank in Washington D.C. where I was an Event Planning intern. I was proactive in applying for jobs in the late summer and landed a job at Vocus as a Sales Executive where I currently work. Having an IDS major is something to be proud of and it can really be as specific or broad as you make it which leads to great possibilities in the career track of your dreams.
