Resident Directorship Information

The Advisory Commission to the Gettysburg Interdisciplinary Study Abroad Program in England is seeking applicants for the resident directorship of the fall 2009 and 2010 programs. The Resident Director will conduct a one-month interdisciplinary seminar for sixteen Gettysburg students in London and then accompany the students to Lancaster University, where he or she will assume some teaching responsibilities. This position represents an exciting opportunity to live in England for a semester, teach some of Gettysburg's finest students, and establish professional connections at Lancaster University, which is ranked among the top ten universities in Britain. We encourage full-time, continuing faculty from all fields of expertise to consider applying for this position. Applications are due on February 15, 2008.

The program is sponsored by IDS and coordinated by a faculty member (Kathleen Cain) working in partnership with the Office of Off-Campus Studies.  Interested applicants should feel free to contact past and current resident directors for information about the program, including Jack Ryan (English, Fall 2004), Tim Shannon (History, Fall 2005), Caroline Hartzell (Political Science, Fall 2006), Jim Udden (IDS, Fall 2007), and Larry Marschall (Physics, Fall 2008).  Please check with Kathy Cain (resident director, Fall 2002, and on-campus coordinator) for specific information about the application process.
