Application and Minimum Requirements

Introduction

IA is a selective program; therefore, students must apply for admission. Applications will be reviewed by the Director and the IA advisors.  Even though a student may meet the minimum requirements of the program, the Director and advisors reserve the right to accept or reject a student.

Minimum Requirements
A student must have a minimum overall G.P.A. of 2.60 and, if applicable, a minimum G.P.A. of 2.60 in his/her major to be accepted into the IA program. Students must maintain the minimum College and department GPA and at least a 2.60 average in the IA courses to remain in the program.

When To Apply
Students are encouraged to apply for IA between the second semester of their first year and the middle of the second semester of their second year.  First year students who are accepted into the program will be assigned a provisional standing until the completion of the spring semester of the first year. At that time the Director and advisors will review the student's performance and decide whether or not to grant permanent standing.

Submitting Applications: Application must be made to the Director of the IA.  The Director will notify students whether or not they have been accepted into the program.

Where To Get Applications
Applications are available from the IA Director or may be downloaded from this website.
