With opportunities to study abroad and conduct fieldwork on five continents, anthropology students analyze social practices, cultural systems, physical evidence, and other data to gain understanding of human behavior and the forces that shape it.
Students also conduct independent research. Recent projects have focused on topics such as non-face-to-face communication and the impact of race, class, and gender on body image.
Encompassing physical and cultural anthropology and archaeology, courses examine world cultures and civilizations, sex and gender roles, anthropological theory, and other topics.
