Writing
Offered as: Minor
The writing minor is designed for students majoring in all academic disciplines who enjoy writing and want to enhance their writing skills. The six-course minor covers a variety of genres, including essay writing, fiction, poetry, screenwriting and playwriting, memoir, and other forms.
Many students who minor in writing conduct an individualized study in writing or take part in an internship with the College's award-winning literary journal, The Gettysburg Review, which features works by many of the nation's leading writers. Student interns work closely with the editorial staff of The Gettysburg Review to gain hands-on publishing experience.
Each year, a new Emerging Writer in the early stages of his or her professional career joins the faculty to work closely with students. Many writers, poets, and scholars visit the campus each year to present readings and lectures and to interact with students.
