The German major integrates in-depth learning of German language with study of German culture, helping you gain language proficiency and an understanding of German literature, history, art, and politics in the context of modern society.

All majors enhance their learning by spending at least one semester abroad in a German-speaking country.  A popular option is the College's semester-abroad program in Cologne, where you'll live with a German family, study German language and culture, and immerse yourself in the German way of life.  A junior-year-abroad program at Heidelberg University offers similar benefits.
