Latin American Studies
Offered as: Major , Minor

Two Latin American Studies Programs -- a minor and a combined major with Spanish, draw on courses in the humanities and social sciences to offer a multidisciplinary approach to the study of Latin America.
Coursework, study abroad, and other experiences engage you with the history of the region; the social, political, and economic forces that have shaped it; its language; and its art and culture. You develop informed views of complex issues, examine the interdependence between Latin America and the United States, and are offered opportunities to get involved in civic action that crosses national borders.
Study abroad through the following programs in Argentina, Mexico, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Panama, and Peru enriches your learning, as do ample opportunities to become involved with the growing Latino population in the Gettysburg area.
