Pre-Law
Offered as: Special Program
From liberal arts breadth to in-depth LSAT preparation, Gettysburg College's Pre-Law Advising program enriches any major by providing programming and practical experiences oriented toward law school and a legal career. Students can also design their own law-related special major.
Law schools demand a rigorous set of intellectual abilities: logic, critical analysis, effective written and verbal expression, thorough insight into human institutions. At the same time, contemporary law offers career choices that span society, from environmental law to corporate transactions, from criminal law to intellectual property, from family law to civil rights.
This balance of skills and specialization is at the heart of the Gettysburg College Pre-Law experience. Critical thinking and communication skills pervade the liberal arts curriculum while the student's major develops detailed knowledge in a single field. Numerous cocurricular activities offer further opportunities for students interested in law.
