Management
The management major combines analytical and technical skills with liberal arts breadth, preparing students to become informed decision makers and effective managers in a range of professional settings.
Courses and other experiences help students learn essential skills of management, understand the historical and social contexts in which management decisions are made, practice good management in real-world and simulated environments, and develop their personal and professional ethics. The curriculum stresses intellectual boldness, creative problem solving, entrepreneurial thinking, and the practice of responsible management.
Learning management within Gettysburg's liberal arts framework broadens your world view as it enriches your understanding of what it means to manage effectively. For example, you don't just learn to read a balance sheet; you learn to interpret it, to see what insights it reveals about an organization, and what it predicts about the future. You move beyond simply acquiring skills to acquiring knowledge -- through coursework and other experiences -- gaining an education that's in synch with the demands of the contemporary workplace.
