Program Requirements
Programs in Mathematics
Major in Mathematics: Core: Mathematics 111, 112, 211, 212, 215 and Computer Science 103 or 111
Plus: Mathematics 315 or 321 or 331
Plus: Four 300-level mathematics courses
* Students considering graduate study in mathematics are advised to take both Math 321 and Math 331.
* Department honors in mathematics are awarded to students who have a grade point average of at least 3.0 overall and 3.5 in the major, and who have participated significantly in the co-curricular activities of the Department.
Minor in Mathematics: A minor in mathematics consists of six mathematics courses numbered 111 or above. At least one of these courses must be at the 300 level.
Grade Requirements: All courses taken to satisfy the requirements for the major or minor must be taken using the A-F grading system. To advance to a course with prerequisites, a minimum grade of C- is required for each prerequisite course.
