Carol Priest began her employment at Gettysburg College on April 21, 1981. During her tenure at Gettysburg she has worked in the College Store as Head Cashier and Accounting Clerk and in Student Activities as the Administrative Assistant. After eighteen years in administrative positions, Carol moved to the academic world when she was hired by the Departments of Philosophy and Religion in 1999. She now works with some fifteen different professors in the Philosophy Department, the Religion Department, and the Latin American Studies Program in Weidensall Hall. She finds her current job very rewarding, and she has proven herself to be an invaluable asset to the Departments and Program that she serves. At the annual Staff Appreciation Banquet held at the Wyndham Hotel and Conference Center on January 13, 2007, Carol was recognized for her twenty-five years of exceptional service to Gettysburg College.
Carol enjoys relaxing times that include working in the flower and vegetable gardens, reading, watching baseball games (too many favorite teams to mention), watching and going to NASCAR races ("Go Jeff Gordon"), yoga, exercising, walking, shopping, crossword and sudoku puzzles, traveling, being with friends, having fun on the weekends, dancing, and listening to favorite bands.
Carol is married to Jon Priest. Megan, the daughter of Carol and Jon, graduated from Gettysburg College with the class of 2006.
