Professor Steve Gimbel and Anne Emerson '08 published "Montessori and the Uncited Influence of Hegel" in Communications, (2009): 39-53. The article shows that Maria Montessori's pedagogy is based upon her picture of human development, a picture shaped by the Hegelianism of her university professor Antonio Labriola.
