John C. Hill '13, philosophy major, has been selected as an external reviewer for Stance: An International Undergraduate Philosophy Journal, which is "a premier source for undergraduate philosophical research."
Hilary Landfried '13, a philosophy major, has completed three projects this year: a summer AIDS service learning project in Uganda sponsored by the Center for Public Service; an externship with the US Geospatial Intelligence Foundation in Washington, DC.; and a service-learning project on an Apache reservation in the Southwest over the holiday break. Based on her internship, she was invited to help staff the GEOINT Conference in New Orleans last fall. Her work in Uganda introduced new ideas for opening communication about AIDS in schools and produced a philosophical paper which discussed issues of privacy and openness, and ethical approaches to women's issues regarding AIDS.
