- John Hill ’13, has received a Mellon Summer Scholars Award for a research project titled: Self-Knowledge: The First Person in Thought and Action. Prof. Lisa Portmess is his mentor for this project. As part of his research John will attend a workshop in June in Barcelona, "Centered Content and Communication Workshop," exploring philosophical issues arising from the perspectival character of some thoughts and the facts they represent.
- John Hill has also been selected to participate in the 2012 Colorado Summer Seminar in Philosophy, a prestigious experience for outstanding undergraduates intending to go to graduate school in philosophy. The topic for this summer’s seminar of 15-20 students is The Limits of Knowledge. Admission to the program is highly competitive. The course carries graduate credit and is sponsored by the University of Colorado, Boulder.
