My research is in Soft Condensed Matter Physics, where the focus is to understand the rich interplay between the microscopic interactions and the macroscopic behavior of complex systems. These out-of-equilibrium systems can form self-organized patterns and exhibit emergent behavior. Specifically, I apply these ideas to investigate jamming in granular materials and collective animal behavior.
